Panettone

The origins of the traditional Italian Christmas cakes lie in Milan, but they can now be found throughout the country and across the globe. Our classic version contains raisins and candied fruit.


Ingredients:
Plain flour, butter, milk, honey, sugar, eggs, salt, leaven, natural yeast, candied orange pieces, sultanas, flavourings.


The following versions are available:
Classic, without candied fruit, with mixed berries, with late season mandarins from Ciaculli, with candied apricot pieces, with chocolate chips, with pears and chocolate, with chocolate and mixed berries, with gin and candied lemon pieces, and with candied apple pieces and cinnamon.

Panettone with candied apple pieces and cinnamon

The FORNO PIN take on the traditional Panettone recipe features meticulously selected ingredients that are left to rise for 48 hours.
The classic dough at the heart of our artisan Panettone is enriched with candied apple pieces, cinnamon and sultanas.

“Gintone”, Panettone with Gin

A truly unique take on artisan Panettone.
All of the ingredients, including the candied lemon pieces and the sultanas, are soaked in superior gin for 48 hours. They are then drained and added to the final dough, which is left to rise naturally for a further 48 hours.
After it has been baked, the Panettone is left upside down for a whole day to give it the classic dome shape.

This traditional yeast-leavened cake is an Easter favourite in Italy.
The fluffy centre is covered with crispy icing. As well as the classic version, we have a number of alternative recipes.

Gubana

Gubana is a traditional Friulian cake that was first made back in the 15th century in the Natisone Valleys, near the border with Slovenia. Its name comes from “guba”, which is Slovenian for “fold”. Steeped in history, traditions and culture, it offers a culinary experience that few cakes can rival!
The soft cake is rolled into a spiral shape and we offer a range of rich fillings, including ones with Piedmontese hazelnuts, pine nuts from Lazio, candied Italian orange pieces, our own biscuits and Friulian grappa.
Everything is left to settle for approximately a day and a half before it is baked at a carefully controlled temperature and packaged.
